Who can apply

We are offering a Choral Music Scholarship to professional music teachers in private and state schools in the Salisbury area with pupils over the age of 13. This offer is for our season 24/25 (Sept 24 – June 25), runs for the whole of the season, and is a free membership (worth £150). It gives you the opportunity to sing in a large choir under the expert direction of a recognised national choral conductor, David Halls. All we ask of you is that you have a voice test, hire/buy your music, and buy a folder.

Almost all the members of our choir say that they came to the choir after having sung at school, and the choir re-kindled their love of singing and choral music. We wish to stimulate interest in choral music in schools — the schoolchildren of today are the future members of SMS and other choirs. And music teachers are an essential link in bringing the enjoyment of choral music to our young people.
